You have two shirts? One belongs to you. The other belongs to the man who has no shirt.

Bottom: Arthur Q Bryan as Floyd Munson (who ran Floyd's Barber Shop) in The Great Gildersleeve, circa 1942. One of the things on my bucket list is to visit Mt Airy, NC, Andy Griffith's boyhood home and the inspiration for Mayberry.

Did you know that "Floyd's Barber Shop" existed before Mayberry? Floyd Munson (different actor, Arthur Q. Bryan) was one of the Jolly Boys on the Great Gildersleeve radio program and he ran "Floyd's Barber Shop."

Listen to Gildy and Floyd and the Jolly Boys discuss names for the baby girl Gildy found in his car in the grocery store parking lot...

(Just as an aside: If you listen to a lot of Old Time Radio like this, you'll hear plot lines, names, jokes and other things that made their way into television where they were introduced to a whole new audience (like me) that never heard them before.)

c0 NF Slim Pickens riding a nuclear bomb in Dr Strangelove.I recently made a reference to Hogan's Heroes among my coworkers. No one under 30 heard of it before. And most of the same group hadn't seen Slim Pickens ride a nuclear bomb out of a B-52 in Dr Strangelove.

I suspect they may not have heard of Floyd's Barber Shop, either, which is kind of like not knowing who was marooned on Gilligan's Island or discovered electricity with a key tied to a kite tail, and other important stuff like that.
