As some of you may know, there is occasional reminiscing over at Herculodge (>) on readers’ favorite radios recalled from their youths; they refer to them as “Rosebud radios,” after the childhood sled in Citizen Kane.
I’ve talked here about one I had, and wouldn’t you know, my mom brought mine on a recent visit. I had no idea it still existed, and it may have been shared by me and my brother Tom. You have to be a radio lover to understand the excitement. The attachment a child forms with a radio has nothing to do with the looks or value, but the time spent with it and the cities and science and delight it discloses.
