(Missed a couple days due to Thanksgiving festivities. Will post a few pictures. Diners at the Clarence household said the meal was wonderful.)
I always wanted to write a story about an old man who lived in a remote railway shack who had some critical but trivial job that required a real person to be at the switch. Sort of a lighthouse keeper by a railroad.
His name would be Sookie and he would at some point be cutting off a chaw of tobacco.
He would have looked a little like the tollhouse keeper in It’s a Wonderful LIfe, isolated and comfortable, but he’d be older, slower, hunched.
I’ve had this image for 40 years or more, but this is as far as the story ever got.

I’m sure this was an oversight, but some honest mistakes endure as long as dishonest ones. Costco labeled a bible as "fiction."
