Christians converting Muslims

I don't know quite what to make of ABN, the Aramaic Broadcast Network. It's an Arab-Christian over-the-air channel that focuses on debate and discussion between Christians and Muslims. (ABN is a Christian organization trying to convert Muslims).

I can't be so naive as to presume there's no money or careers behind ABN, but it also courts real danger, and they deserve a lot of credit. It can get quite confrontational and is interesting to watch, if only from a sociological/comparative religion perspective.

As I reminded a Christian friend recently:

Jesus said to him, "Don't forbid him, for he who is not against us is for us." (WEB, Lk 9:50)

As I type this, Sheikh Man Haron Monis, apparently religiously/politically motivated, is holding hostages in a cafe in Sydney, Australia. [2014-12-16: Before it ended, he and two hostages were dead.]

Can we find any hopeful words while this unfolds?

Yes:
Grand Mufti Ibrahim Abu Mohamed, the highest Islamic office holder in Australia, said in a statement that the Muslim community was "devastated" by the incident, adding that "such actions are denounced in part and in whole in Islam." Source >

Good for him. I suspect peace-seeking Muslims have been with us all along and we just haven't been listening, or they are now feeling freer to speak out, or a combination of both.
