Supreme Court 5-4 (Liberty sometimes lives or dies based on narrow margins.)

Supreme Court Rules Some Employers Don't Have to Cover Birth Control >

This is not about the practice of birth control, but the politics of conflicting liberties.

Yours may not be mine, but when yours becomes challenged, I will defend them. A shame too few defended this one.

But, for the time being, there remains some liberty of conscience in this country.

The scary part? The court ruled 5-4.

I heard some time back on NPR that, had an unpredicted fog not hidden George Washington's troops, he would not have been able to cross the Delaware and we might not have gained our independence when we did, and who knows, we might be a commonwealth country today, or a collection of provinces with an institutional allegiance to the British crown.

Liberty sometimes lives or dies based on narrow margins.
