We live in a society that has been so flooded with mediocrity that we wouldn’t know greatness if we sat on it, and wouldn’t like it if we did.
Someone I know (I will protect his identity) took a very fine wine to a friend's house and they mixed it with 7-Up. This person didn’t say anything because the friendship was more important than the wine, but it’s a fitting metaphor, and goes for any activity that requires a cultivated taste.
Even an educated taste.
How about one that’s just been around the block a couple times?
