An answer to the age-old question: Where is Gilligan's Island?
According to GilligansIsle.com:
"The island you see in the distance at the beginning theme of the second and third season is an actual island called "Coconut Island" or Mokuoloe. It is located in Oahu's Kaneohe Bay and is the home of the Institute of Marine Biology. The two tall pine trees in the middle of the island are still standing after all these years!" Source >

Licking Batteries
Did you know if you lick the ends of dead batteries in, say, a TV remote, you get little more life out them? True. Wonder who else does that besides me.
Don't try it with a fresh transistor battery unless you want a rather unpleasant zap. I don't think anyone even uses transistor batteries anymore, except in smoke detectors, which now are often (and should be) wired into the house electrical system.
Back in the day, we used transistor batteries in transistor radios and many toys. AAs and AAAs were not as efficient as they are today, and bigger generally lasted longer.
